PCG chief sinuspinde ng 90 araw sa graft

MANILA, Philippines - Sinuspinde ng 90 araw ng Sandiganbayan si Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant Vice-Admiral Edmund Tan dulot ng kasong katiwalian na kinasasangkutan nito sa ahensiya.

Sa kautusang ipinalabas ng anti-graft court’s 4th Division Justices Gregory Ong, Jose Hernandez at Ma. Cristina Cornejo, si Tan na dating hepe ng Coast Guard sa Eastern Visayas ay kinasuhan ng negosyanteng si Reynaldo Chua matapos umanong maantala ang shipment nito noong 2007.

Sinasabing ang nangyaring delay ay nagdulot ng mahigit P500,000 na pagkalugi sa complainant.

Ayon sa Sandiganbayan, sinamantala ni Tan ang posisyon para maisagawa ang naturang hakbang.

Ipinasa na ng korte sa tanggapan ni Transportation Sec. Mar Roxas ang kopya ng kautusan para ito ay maipatupad.
