Bagong Guinness Record target ng Run for Pasig River

MANILA, Philippines - Target makagawa ng bagong Guinness record ang Pilipinas sa 160,000 runners na inaasahang lalahok sa gaganaping Run for the Pasig River ngayong araw.

Ayon kay AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Col. Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos Jr., 1,600 sundalo ang tatakbo sa ‘Advocacy Run for the Protection and Preservation of Pasig Ri­ver‘ na pinangungunahan ng ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc .

Inihayag naman ni PNP Spokesman Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., na nasa 2,000 pulis ang magpapartisipa.

“This year’s benefit run aims to break its Guiness Record of 116,068 participants, which they successfully attained last year for having the most runners in a single event”, pahayag ni Burgos.

Ang mga kalahok ay tatakbo mula Roxas Boulevard, Manila na ang distansiya ay depende sa kategoryang 3 kilometer, 5 k, 10 K run at hanggang Bonifacio Global City sa Taguig City para sa 21 k run. Ang iba ay tatakbo mula Manila Hotel patu­ngong Vito Cruz, Roxas Boulevard at maging sa Seaside ng Mall of Asia.

Nabatid na inimbita­han rin ng mga organi­zer si Pangulong Aquino upang manguna sa ce­remonial gunfire gamit ang 105 MM Howitzer saluting battery na hudyat ng pagsisimula ng takbo para sagipin ang Ilog Pasig.
