BoC official kinuwestyon sa yaman

MANILA, Philippines –  Ipinagharap ng kasong kirminal at administratibo sa Office of the Ombudsman ang isang opisyal ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) kaugnay sa umano’y hindi maipaliwanag na yaman.

Mga kasong paglabag sa anti-graft law at Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees ang kinakaharap ni Lowell Lomuljo Me­dija, customs collector IV ng BOC-Mindanao Con­tainer Terminal Phividec sa Tacoloan, Misamis Oriental.

Sa 9-pahinang joint complaint-affidavit na inihain ni DOF-Revenue Integrity Protection Service (RIPS) Intelligence Officer III Oscar Moratin at Intelligence Agent II Crispin Velarde, hindi umano maaring makuha ni Medija ang mga assets nito kung ibabatay lamang sa kaniyang legitimate income.

Kabilang sa sinilip ng DOF ang isang bahay ni Mejia­, isang residential lot, bagong tayong mansion at mga sasakyan.

Sa kaniyang Statement of Assets and Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) lumalabas na malaki ang ’inconsistencies­’ sa nakalagay na declared values ng kaniyang real at personal properties.

Bilang isang customs collector IV, may sahod lamang­ na P511,668.00 si Medija o salary grade 24 annua­l income.
