Pinansiyal na tulong ng publiko hingi sa pupugutang Pinoy sa Saudi

Umapela sa publiko ang Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission of the Pastoral Core of Migrants and Itinerant People (CBCP-ECMI) para sa pampinansiyal na suporta sa pamilya ng overseas Filipino worker na nakatakdang pugutan ng ulo sa Saudi Arabia.

Ayon kay CBCP-ECMI chairman Ramon Arguelles, bumuo ang mga organisasyon ng simbahan ng fund raising campaign para sagipin ang buhay ni Primo Gasmen, 32, na nakulong mula pa noong 2000 matapos mapatunayang nagkasala sa kasong pagpatay sa co-worker niyang Nepalese na nakilalang si Khim bahadur Gurung.

Kailangang makalikom ng halagang P780,000 o $15,000 blood money bago sumapit ang Enero 2003 bilang kabayaran sa pamilya ni Gurung.

"As we need all prayers and support of the various sectors in the society, we also appeal for their kindness and sense of compassion by donating some of their earnings to spare Gasmin from death. Any amount will definitely mean a big thing to the Gasmens," ani Arguelles.

Samantala, nag-pledge na ng tulong ang OWWA mula sa kanilang networking sa 15 regional office units nito sa bansa at 25 overseas posts. (Ulat ni Jhay Quejada)
