Travel tax tinguhang wagtangon

CEBU, Philippines —  Nagtinguha si Deputy Speaker Pablo John Garcia nga wagtangon na ang travel tax sa mga mobiyahe gawas sa nasud.

“If to travel is a right (Section 6, Article II, 1987 Constitution) why is its exercise being taxed?” pangutanan ni Garcia.

Si Garcia niduso og balaudnon nga nagtinguha sa pagwagtang sa travel tax sa mga mobiyahe ngadto sa laing nasud.Ang House Bill 3874 giduso ni Garcia niadtong Agosto 13, 2019.

Sa iyang explanatory note, si Garcia nagkanayon nga ang pagbuhis sa mobiyahe sa gawas sa nasud nakapabug-at lang kini sa mga residente.

“The income from which they obtained funds to purchase airline tickets would already have been subject to income tax. The sale of the airline ticket is already subject to taxes which are passed on to the passenger. Furthermore, the passengers is made it pay terminal fees during every trip,” matud ni Garcia.
