Noontime rivals Vic Sotto, Vice Ganda team up for 1st movie collab
MANILA, Philippines — Noontime show rivals Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto will be joining forces for the first time on the big screen.
Vic and Vice will headline the movie titled "The Greatest Showdown."
The film is directed by Jun Robles Lana, who also directed Vice’s two consecutive Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entries, “Call Me Mother” and “And the Breadwinner Is…”
In Star Cinema's official announcement on their social media page about this collaboration, the teaser poster of the film can also be seen.
“Get ready for a movie event that brings everyone together through laughter!" Star Cinema captioned the post.
“The Unkabogable Superstar Vice Ganda and our beloved Bossing Vic Sotto will finally share the big screen!” it added.
Star Cinema has not yet mentioned whether it will participate in the Metro Manila Film Festival, but its poster states "exclusively in cinemas this 2026!"
“The Greatest Showdown” is a production of Star Cinema, ABS-CBN Studios, The IdeaFirst Company, M-Zet Productions and APT Entertainment.
Following Star Cinema’s post, the formal announcement for the said project took place at a mall in Quezon City yesterday, July 5. It was attended by Vic and Vice.
“Katulad ko, alam n’yo lahat din kayo inaantay itong pagkakataon na ‘to. Minsan lang ‘to mangyayari at gusto mangyari ‘to noon pa man. Sa ngayon, nag-tagpo na kami," Vice said.
“Hindi lang una at huling beses niyo kami makikita dahil mapapanood niyo kaming magkasama sa isang pelikula,” he added.
“Meron po kaming sorpresa para sa inyo lang. Salamat sa mga Dabarkads, sa lahat ng madlang people. Ito po ‘yun para sa inyo," Vic said.
“Noon pa nga kasunduan namin ni Vice na ang pelikulang ito ay magbibigay ligaya sa taong bayan. Alam niyo naman ang ating bansa ngayon, dumadaan sa mga pagsubok,” he added.
