MANILA, Philippines - The government is now working for the repatriation of the body of the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was killed in a rocket attack in Libya.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas said the Philippine government through the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is now working for the return of the cadaver of Jupiter Adrias.
"Government is ready to assist the Adrias family as they face these trying times. As of now, the primary concern is to bring home the remains of our kababayan Jupiter. Coordination with the DFA is currently underway in relation to this matter," Roxas said in a statement.
"Nakakalungkot na isa na namang bagong bayaning Filipino na inaasahan ng kanyang pamilya at ng ating bansa ang naging biktima ng walang saysay na karahasan. Taos puso akong nakikiramay sa mga na ulila ni Jupiter," he added.
The DFA recently announced that the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli confirmed that Adrias, 31,a native of Capiz, died in a hospital due to severe injuries from the attack.
Three other Filipinos, who were reportedly on board a car during the attack, were wounded and are being treated in the same hospital, the DFA said.
