BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – The city police on Tuesday intercepted at the Reclamation Area here about P700,000 worth of shabu and arrested two suspects who picked up the package sent through a private courier from Pasay City.
Police identified the suspects as Rey Steve Esteban, 48, of Barangay Mandalagan; and Randolph San Luis, 34, of Barangay Singcang-Airport, all in this city.
The operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group of the Bacolod City Police Office, in a buy-bust operation, found the 100 grams of shabu, which was inserted in an electric stove that was sent through the courier company.
The suspects hurriedly escaped in a black Chevrolet car as their getaway vehicle. After a brief chase, the police cornered and arrested the two in front of the old City Hall building at the downtown area.
Esteban and San Luis are now detained at the police station and may face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
