CEBU, Philippines - A 10-million Ambient Air System device, to monitor and identify presence of air pollutants, will soon be installed in Tacloban City by the Environmental Management Bureau of the DENR-8.
This was after City Mayor Alfred Romualdez and EMB-8 director Leticia Maceda signed last week a memorandum of agreement for the purpose.
City Environment and Natural Resources Officer Jonathan Hijada said Tacloban, being a highly urbanized city in Eastern Visayas, has qualified to avail itself of the air pollution monitoring device.
The device will identify pollutants prevalent in the city, while providing data on wind direction and rainfall level, he said. (FREEMAN)
