Service through talent

We live only once, and because of this, it is essential that we make the most of our time on earth by engaging in activities that are both productive and meaningful. A life of meaning extends beyond personal fulfillment; it also encompasses the impact we have on others, emphasizing the importance of contributing to the well-being of those around us. To truly find significance in our actions, we must consider how our choices affect not just ourselves but also the broader community and the world at large. I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by good people and wonderful opportunities at the University of the Philippines Cebu, which has provided me with the ideal working environment throughout my teaching career. Over the years, I have been able to utilize these blessings to positively impact the lives of my students and to contribute to their personal and professional growth. It has been a privilege to teach multiple generations, sharing knowledge, and fostering a love for learning that I hope will extend far beyond my time in the classroom. The supportive community at the university has enriched my experience and allowed me to create meaningful connections with both colleagues and students. As I reflect on my journey, I am filled with gratitude for the chance to inspire young minds and for the lasting legacy I hope to leave behind.

While I don’t seek out awards or recognition, what matters most to me is the fact that I have touched many lives over the years. Each moment spent with my students and the connections formed along the way hold far greater significance than any accolade. Knowing that I have played a part in their growth, learning, and development provides me with deep fulfillment and satisfaction. It’s the lasting impact I’ve made on their lives that fills my heart with joy and gratitude. Ultimately, the true reward lies in seeing my students succeed and knowing I contributed to their journeys.
