Silent voice

ESSENCE - Ligaya Rabago - Visaya - The Freeman

I find it regrettable that a family dispute has been widely covered by social media and even mainstream media, rather than people completely celebrating the success of two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo at this year's Olympics. Yulo's mother's side and his own have publicly voiced their complaints on the internet. What ought to have been a time of joy and pride for the country has been darkened by this circumstance. Disappointingly, personal problems seem to overshadow such a noteworthy accomplishment. This is not how the story is meant to play out.

Every family is not flawless. Although disagreements are unavoidable, we work to make sure they don't strain our bonds. There are moments when we argue with our parents and siblings. But what really helps to overcome problems is each member's willingness to talk about them. Ultimately, all issues are resolved via truthful dialogue.

The public's curiosity about Carlos Yulo's personal life has naturally increased with his climb to fame. His private life is frequently the subject of careless thoughts and viewpoints when it is documented and posted on social media. This media attention has the potential to worsen circumstances and make them more difficult to handle. As such, there is a major compromise in the efficacy of discreetly managing sensitive problems. As public figures negotiate their personal and professional lives under continual surveillance, maintaining privacy becomes more and more challenging.

Remember that our relatives are aware of our identities and the struggles we face. They are aware of our difficulties since they are also part of them. Our families' ties are strengthened by this shared understanding. We get closer and more encouraging of one another as we overcome obstacles together. In the end, this cohesion strengthens the bonds among family members.

A silent conscience is a strong force that, unconsciously, directs our choices and actions. A faint but steadfast inner voice directs us toward what is morally and justifiably right. It calls us to behave honorably and compassionately by whispering realities that we may otherwise choose to ignore. This silent voice helps us negotiate the difficulties of life with a clear sense of purpose and ethical clarity by reminding us of our values and the repercussions of our decisions when we are tempted or feeling doubtful. A more genuine and satisfying existence can result from following this inner guidance since it will help us live out our beliefs to the fullest.

How I wish someone had whispered to them in silence, telling them to deal with this quietly. It would have been preferable to handle their problems out of the spotlight. They could have reached a peaceful conclusion if they had done so. They might have been able to work out their disagreements thanks to this strategy. Ultimately, they would have experienced much-needed serenity if they had been able to reconcile in their hearts.

Let's not let this family feud ultimately eclipse Carlos Yulo's outstanding accomplishments. His commitment and diligence have greatly elevated our country's standing. While we rejoice at his accomplishment, let's not forget how crucial it is to manage private affairs discreetly and with grace. By doing this, we uphold the principles of harmony and decency that unite our community. Let's work to encourage and assist one another so that the successes that motivate us all continue to be highlighted.
