What if Lapulapu had lost to Magellan?

Today the country celebrates the victory of Datu Lapulapu and his men over Ferdinand Magellan and his Spanish soldiers in what was famously known as the “Battle of Mactan” o “Kadaugan sa Mactan.”

“What if Lapulapu and his men had lost in the battle?” A man asked his friend. “Aw, simple lang. Wala unta tay selebrasyon sa Kadaugan sa Mactan,” his friend replied.
