The tourism spots/sites in Visayas and Mindanao authored by Senator Sotto
Senate President Vicente Castelo Sotto III, grandson and namesake of Don Vicente Yap Sotto (Father of Cebuano Journalism, Language, and Literature and who was elected senator placing second in the 1946 election) authored the following laws passed during the 9th and 10th Congress, this was from 1992 to 1998:
RA 7822 An Act declaring Limasawa Island in Southern Leyte a tourist zone.
RA 7852 An Act providing for the improvement and development of the Chocolate Hills Tourist Spot in Carmen, Bohol.
RA 8000 An Act authorizing the improvement and development of Ardent Spring in Mambajao, Camiguin. (Note from CEBUpedia: Col. Bonifacio Aranas, the Lieutenant of General Arcadio Maxilom, comes from the island. He was betrayed on his way home, arrested and executed by General Adolfo Montero in Fort San Pedro. For his courage, earning the respect of the Spanish governor whom he challenged to a duel, he was given the honor of being allowed to wear his uniform while he was executed. A street in Cebu City is named in his honor.)
RA 8001 An Act providing for the improvement of the Dalama Shoreline in Molumdom, Lanao del Sur into a Public Beach Resort.
RA 8002 An Act declaring the site in the Municipality of Palo, Leyte, where Gen. Douglas MacArthur landed on October 20, 1944 to liberate the Philippines during World War II, a tourist spot. (CEBUPedia: Gen. MacArthur was accompanied by the Grand Old of Man of Cebu, Don Sergio Suico Osmeña Sr. in the famous Leyte Landings, he was formally installed as President of the Philippines by MacArthur on the steps of the Leyte Provincial Capitol in Tacloban City on October 23, 1944 and held office in the capitol until February 27, 1945).
RA 8023 An Act declaring the Man-Made Lake in the Municipality of Balo-I, Province of Lanao del Norte a tourist spot.
RA 8024 An Act declaring Busay Falls in the Municipality of Babatngon, Province of Leyte, a tourist spot.

RA 9046 An Act amending Republic Act No. 8590, entitled “An Act granting the Calbayog Telephone System, a franchise to construct, establish, install, maintain and operate local exchange network in the City of Calbayog, Province of Samar” and assigning/transferring the same in favor of West Samar Telecommunications, Inc.”
