Seven kinds of people who won't vote for Digong Duterte
There are many people now who are overcome with too much fear that Mayor Duterte, although a Johnny-come-lately bet, may yet capture the presidency in 2016. The survey that showed him outranking Grace Poe in Metro Manila was even made prior to his momentous decision to accept the challenge. And everybody knows that wherever Metro Manila goes, there goes the whole nation as well. Now, another national survey shows Duterte topping the polls with Binay and Poe in virtual tie for the second place. Mar is a distant third. Duterte is very strong in Mindanao. Even former Speaker Boy Nograles, his erstwhile ''mortal'' enemy has decided to support Mayor Rody. Mayor Uy of Tagum and many other political leaders have jumped from the LP and from UNA to place their bets on Mayor Digong. It is a bandwagon now. Everyone is jumping to the Duterte satellite.
Duterte is also very strong in the Visayas.He will most probably get more votes than Grace Poe in northern Cebu despite the support of Ace Durano for the one whose natural-born status is under current judicial scrutiny. Duterte may even get more votes than Binay in Cebu City despite the all-out support of Mayor Mike Rama and Vice Mayor Labella. In southern Cebu, Duterte has a very strong backing if the Garcias shall go all-out for him in the third and seventh districts. Digong may get more votes in the first district even with Congressman Samsam going full-blast for Mar Roxas. In the second district, Congressman Caminero is all Roxas but there are many Argawanons and Dalaguetnons who will vote for Cong Willy but will go Duterte for president. The local politicians can have themselves reelected but the people will choose their own president, Duterte lagi.
And Duterte is gaining grounds in Luzon. If he made it in Metro Manila, he could make it anywhere else. And so, who are the remaining hold-outs who will not go for him. First of all, the human rights advocates like Leila de Lima will not vote for Digong even if the two of them (de Lima and Duterte) are graduates of the same law school (San Beda College). De Lima believes that the criminals, like those who manufacture shabu inside the Bilibid, and the other criminals, like murderers, kidnappers, drug lords, and gambling lords have more human rights than their victims. Duterte is the ultimate nemesis of criminals. He believes that many of them, especially those who murder and rape innocent children should be exterminated. De Lima believes they are still entitled to due-process which usually takes twenty years.
Number two, the criminal syndicates will never want Digong to become president. For once in office, Digong will hunt them relentlessly and with the ferocity of a wounded tiger. Third, the greedy businessmen will not vote for Digong because he imposes curfew hours that cut short the establishment hours of raking in incomes and making profits. The manufacturers of firecrackers won't vote for him because Duterte banned firecrackers in Davao. Fourth, the traffic violators, the jaywalkers, the vendors who illegally occupy the sidewalks will not vote for him. Digong is a stickler for order and safety for pedestrians and the public in general. Those who illegally occupy public areas will not vote for him because he puts them in their proper places. Duterte will not hesitate to enforce ARTICULO UNO to all lawbreakers.
Fifth, the corrupt officials and personnel in government will not want Mayor Duterte to occupy the presidency. Because his anger against graft and corruption is not only a campaign mantra like the ''DAANG MATUWID''. Digong does say it in so many words, like the current administration. But he will expose them, prosecute them, and send them to jail. Sixth, Digong Duterte hates lazy people in the bureaucracy. He hates regional directors who always appear on TV but do not attend to their jobs. He hates ''pa cute'' officials like Joel Villanueva who projects himself as the national TESDA man but has done nothing extraordinary beyond what the TESDA billions could afford. Digong is not pa-forma or pa Beybe like Leila de Lima or Ishko Moreno or Francis Tolentino. You get what you see in Rody Duterte.
