Oponganon returns

MACTAN. A native of Mactan Island who has been away for over 50 years recalled his way of life in Opon during his youth: "Misakay mi'g banca aron motabok sa pikas isla (Cebu mainland) diin kami pang mga bata ang mibugsay sa among gisakyan." There was no bridge then. "Ninduta na ron oi," he said.

OVERSTAY. This old Oponganon overstayed his vacation in Mactan, spending many days going around the island just looking at the big buildings (mostly hotels) there. "Usahay motu (motulo) akong luha sa kalipay," he told an Ear informer, his grandson.
