Imitating Christ

PENITENTS: The traditional nailing on the cross of Pinoy penitents on Good Friday is shown on closed circuit tv in Australia every year and featured in some newspapers and magazines. A group of devout Filipino Catholics in that country frown on this Lenten practice by their countrymen, according to an Ear informer.

IGNORANCE. Leaders of the group tried to stop this practice on tv but failed the tv sponsor claiming  to ban the practice is violation of the believers' religious belief. The Pinoy Catholics reason for trying to stop the practice is that it manifest the Filipinos ignorance of the Catholic doctrine.
