Utterly ridiculous!
In a surprise inspection conducted by DOJ Sec. Leila de Lima along with operatives from the NBI, PDEA and the PNP, what they found clearly shows who are really in charge of the New Bilibid Prisons. The cells of maximum security compound prisoners yielded a hot tub, a split-type air conditioner, chandeliers, lighted ceilings, complete kitchen appliances, more than comfortable beds, large screen flat TVs, a wi-fi router, generator, music studio, laptops, counting machines, and Playstation game console aside from the wads of cash and drugs amounting to millions of pesos in designer bags such as Louis Vuitton and Hermes. Five Rolex, Philip Stein, Patek Philippe and Cartier watches were also found! There were also hidden passageways leading to various locations within the building. Communications equipment was also found, along with checkbooks and firearms. Did I forget to mention that these were all found inside the "prison cells?"
One can only guess as to how long these VIP prisoners have been enjoying this kind of incarceration. One can also guess as to how much they have spent bribing prison guards AND officials to be able to live like kings, and continue their criminal activities. It also shows that all the previous inspections done by previous and current NBP officials were just for show. Can anyone in the NBP really explain how they could have missed the split-type air conditioner, the hot tub, the large screen flat TVs, the chandeliers and the sex doll? It's either the officials and guards are blind, deaf and mute or grotesquely stupid, aside of course from being owned by the real lords of the NBP.
Res ipsa loquitur. The thing speaks for itself. The NBP guards and officials have no defense whatsoever, no explanation as to how all of these contraband got into the prison. Do they need a special detection device to catch a split-type air conditioner from entering the prison, or the large TVs, or the chandeliers or the hot tub? I could probably overlook a deflated sex doll and the other smaller items but please, we are not monumentally stupid as the NBP personnel obviously are. And who pays for all the electricity that run all the appliances and gadgets? Does each cell have an individual meter that the NBP reads and then collects from the NBP lords? If I'm not mistaken, we pay for their electricity.
The privileged prisoners have all been transferred to the NBI. Their respective sentences must be reviewed and revised, adding more years because of all these discoveries. All of the discovered contraband has been confiscated and visiting privileges suspended. I think they should burn everything, just for the enjoyment of the people, with the wads of cash physically given to the needy, all on national TV. And while they are it, all the guards and officials of the NBP should be suspended, detained and subject to a real investigation this time, and not just something for show. The NBP should be guarded by the military, with no ties whatsoever to anyone in the prison. And the government should seriously consider shutting down the prison and transferring it somewhere far from any urban environment. It is obviously a failure. The country is once again in the global limelight. Imagine, a prison cell is much more comfortable than the airport.
