Postal markings

THE EAR - The Freeman

POSTMARK. A Singaporean philatelist said to our Ear informer that many, if not most, of the postmarks of the outgoing mails from the Philippines cannot be read. "Either the rubber stamps lack ink or are already worn out," she said. She showed our Ear informer some mails from Cordova for example with the postmarks "unreadable."

IMPORTANT. The Singaporean philatelist said in the world of philately, markings, especially postmarks, are very important. She said: "The importance of philately must be inculcated in the minds of your postal clerks."
