UMBRELLA. They call it "umbrella revolution" the massive protest demo in Hong Kong. So called because the demonstrators, men and women, carry umbrellas. For protection not mainly from sun and rain but also from tear gas and other things thrown at the demonstrators. Thus said an Ear informer whose nationality is kept secret upon request.

SEIZED. The Ear source said there were instances when at the height of the protest demo, the umbrellas of some people walking outside of the demo areas were seized by police. "Someday Hong Kong's umbrella revolt will be copied by Pinoy rallyists," our Ear informer said.
