I just read a coffee table book titled "Fun in Old Balara" by Aris Tides. I enjoyed reading it. It got me into recalling my boyhood in Manila when Balara Filters was the favorite picnic ground of Manilans and Visayans visiting Manila.

Balara was the place people used to meet and have fun on weekends. There were still no shopping malls to hang out in. For those who had money to splurge Escolta was the place to be. Makati? They used to call it water lily land.

Drilon assures immediate OK of the Bangsamoro law, a housewife in Cagayan de Oro was heard saying: "Dalidali-a ninyo tawon og aprub ang Moro law oy, Kasamok baya ana, Drilon oy." Another Oro City resident said: "Kun lisud na aprobahan balaura, nganong gihimo man na? May na ipausap ni PNoy. Samok-samok ra na."
