Fake watches

THE EAR - The Freeman

WATCHES.One Sunday afternoon recently a man speaking English with Tausog accent attracted some people on Magallanes St. He was selling watches of foreign brands on the sidewalk. He was with a Filipino who answered questions (mostly in Bisayan) for him.

IMPORTED. Our Ear informer said the watches were imported. They carried expensive brands. They were fake but the vendor said they were not fake but copies. "Ambot unsay kalainan," the Ear informer said. The watches were sold at from P200 to P500 only.
