Doesn't this remind you of the notorious Al Capone, who was arrested and jailed for tax evasion? Al Capone terrorized America in the 1920s with his high-profile crimes --murder, rape, robbery, etc.-- but was arrested and rotted in jail for tax evasion.

The estimate of the crowd during the Million People rally in Luneta was 100,000. It was a peaceful rally despite the huge size of the rally participants. One reporter said the police didn't have to work hard for their pay that day. "Hayahaya sa police sa?" The reporter said in jest.

Let our police officers have that ease for once. In other rallies, those organized and led by militant protesters, the cops sometimes come out bloodied and stinking like they've emerged from the inside of a septic tank.

OVERHEARD. Malacañang has announced a P10-million reward for information leading to the arrest of Janet Napoles. That was before Napoles surrendered. Said an observer: "If wa pa mo-surrender si Napoles bayran kaha ang mitudlo?" Reply: "Bayran oy. Apan anha kuhaon ang P10M sa bulsa ra sad ni Napoles."
