Why are NPAs getting bolder and bolder?

That the wife of former Vice President Teofisto Guingona, Gingoog City Mayor Ruth de Lara Guingona was ambushed in Barangay Kapitulagan by elements of the New People's Army (NPA) last Sunday is again another proof of what we've been saying all along, that under the Aquino Regime, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and its allies, the New People's Army and the National Democratic Front (NDF) and their above ground allies like Bayan, Gabriela, etc. have all but gained strength in the nearly three years of Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino, III's rule.

In this year alone, we've seen numerous reports about those incidents like that raid in the Surigao mining areas where Japanese executives were taken hostage and a security guard killed. Then there was that incident a month ago where 150 heavily armed NPAs raided the huge Del Monte Plantation in Bukidnon, then there was that ambush in La Castellana near Bacolod City last January and now this latest incident. All this is proof that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have been inutile in neutralizing our internal threat by the communists.

I recall that towards the end of the year 2010 as the Presidency of Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was winding down, the AFP Chief at that time was tasked to end the communist rebellion and their timetable was set even before then Pres. Arroyo leaves Malacañang Palace. Of course, I never believed that the AFP could set that timetable but at least in GMA's time, the NPAs suffered a severe setback.

Here in Cebu, Gov. Gwen Garcia, in 2005, declared war against the communist insurgency, the first woman governor ever to make such a declaration, to which the NPAs vowed that the streets of Cebu would be turned into rivers of blood. But nothing of that sort happened and Cebu became an insurgency-free province; the benefits of which Cebu Province was able to conduct its “Suroy-Suroy” tourism program without incident.

Cebu is clear proof that if the Local Government Unit (LGU) goes out of its way to find ways to destroy the roots that breeds communism, the communists will be neutralized. But in Negros Occidental, Governor Alfredo Marañon obviously tried to pacify or be “friendly” with the communists instead of fighting them and this is why the insurgency in Negros Occidental is still very much alive.

So why is this happening? I dare say that it is because PNoy has leftists like Political Adviser Ronaldo Llamas and a host of others inside his cabinet and his government who, for appearances sake, try to distance themselves from the mainstream CCP. Even Senatorial bet Teddy Casiño publicly declares himself as a “leftist” but not a communist in a front-page story that appeared in the Inquirer. If there is anything that the communists are good at, it is in publicly lying about themselves. But ask yourself, has anyone in the Team Pinoy senatoriables condemned the attack against Mayor Guingona? Sure, Malacañang issued a condemnation, but not those leftists in the PNoy government.

As we've pointed out several times in the past, these communists have transformed themselves into what the Blessed Pope John Paul II predicted in 1991 when the Soviet Union was crumbling from its own weight, “I'm afraid that Communism will merely shift into Atheism.” Indeed, many people who read that statement believe that he was making a prophecy… and it is coming out as the truth.

This is why we've already pointed out that whenever my good friend Rep. Pastor “Jun” Alcover, Jr. of the ANAD Partylist go on a privilege speech in Congress against the communists, people like Rep. Casiño scoff these verbal tirades and tell Rep. Alcover that they are not communists as communism is already passé. If indeed it is passé as Rep. Casiño says it is… why then can't they issue a statement condemning the last NPA incident? This also goes to seeking election inside Team Pinoy, like senatoriable bet Risa Hontiveros, Koko Pimentel, Etc. Etc.

Worse than the ambush against Mayor Guingona who is not even a candidate for the coming May elections, was when Jorge Madlos, spokesman for the NDF in Mindanao issued an apology saying, “We feel sorry about the incident, but Guingona was warned last week not to bring an armed security escort with her while on the campaign trail. There was a makeshift road block, but somebody in their convoy ordered to run it down and fire at the NPAs, who were forced to return fire.”

Then Madlos issued an offer to indemnify the families of the two brothers who were killed while acting as Guingona's security escorts. What arrogance coming from the NPAs. They also offered the same in the La Castellana ambush. Pray tell us Mr. President if you can tackle the NPAs or not.
