American arrested

CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested yesterday morning an American national for throwing tantrums at a hotel in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City after front desk attendants refused to give him another key to his room as a replacement to the one he had lost.

Trouble started when an allegedly drunk Scotie berated the two clerks at the front desk.

“Nagsige daw niya siya og syagit-syagit ug ‘I might kill people here.’ Mi-ingon pa dyud og ‘You two ladies are monkeys,’ apan wa gayud kini hatage og laing yawe,” PO2 Santiago Benaluga Jr. said.

It was learned that Scotie had been drinking with other Americans at the hotel since Friday.

When he couldn’t get another key, he went back to his friends to continue drinking.

Yesterday morning, Scotie went back to his hotel room and there kicked the door in a bid to open it.

When the door remained closed, he started to berate and harass the personnel, who then called the police.

Scotie kicked PO3 Cedric Castillo several times because he didn’t want to be taken to the station.

However, Castillo and two companions overpowered him.

He was taken to the Mandaue City Hospital where he was made to take a liquor test and undergo a physical and mental exam before he was taken to the police station for detention.

Charges will be filed against Scotie on Monday. (FREEMAN)
