CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City government, in a bid to decongest traffic, will set in motion a major re-routing scheme starting today.
The re-routing, which is still part of the 60-day dry-run, has to be enforced before the city council can enact an ordinance that will make the routes permanent for jeepneys.
Starting today, public utility vehicles from the northern towns and cities travelling along M.C Briones Street shall turn right to L. Jayme Street, turn left to Albano Street and then to J Centre mall terminal.
PUJs from J Centre Mall terminal going to northern Cebu shall turn right to Albaño Street, turn right to M.L. Quezon Avenue, turn left to M.C. Briones Street to destination.
PUJs bound for Cebu City and Mandaue proper from J Centre Terminal shall turn left to Albaño Street turn left to A.S. Fortuna Street to destination.
PUJ's from Foodland, Country mall, and Talamban travelling A.S. Fortuna Street shall turn left to Albaño Street to J Centre Mall Terminal.
All PUJs plying the Lapu-Lapu City - Mandaue City route shall enter J Centre Mall Terminal while all tricycles from L. Jayme Street and ML Quezon Street shall also enter J Centre Mall. (FREEMAN)
