Noy OKs promotion of 11 new police generals

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has approved the promotion of 11 new police generals, including Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, Philippine National Police public information chief.

Director General Alan Purisima said the promotions followed the retirement of several senior police officials occupying sensitive positions.

President Aquino recently named former Deputy Director General Ager Ontog to the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA). He was deputy chief for administration, the No. 2 man in the PNP.

Now occupying the three highest PNP posts are Deputy Director General Felipe Rojas Jr., the deputy chief for administration, Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina, the deputy chief for operations, and Director Marcelo Garbo, the acting chief of directorial staff.

Purisima also named senior police officials to new posts in the directorial staff, police regional office, and national support units.

They are: Chief Superintendent Jaime Morente, acting director for personnel and records management; Chief Superintendent Charles Calima, acting director for intelIigence;

Chief Superintendent Alex Paul Monteagudo, acting director for human resource and doctrine development; Chief Superintendent Ricardo Marquez, acting director for operations; Director Francisco Uyami Jr., director for research and development;

Chief Superintendent Benjamin Magalong, acting director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group; Chief Superintendent Josephus Angan, acting regional director of  Western Visayas; and Chief Superintendent Isagani Nerez, acting regional director of the Cordilleras.

Purisima urged the newly promoted and appointed police officials to articulate his administration CODE-P, which promotes competence, organization development, discipline, excellence and professionalism in the police force.
