The University of the Visayas unveils its new fitness gym in a simple yet meaningful ceremony on Wednesday, October 30, at the UV-Main Campus along Colon Street in Cebu City.

CEBU, Philippines — Putting premium on the physical health and overall well-being of its student-athletes and employees as well, the University of the Visayas formally unveiled its brand new fitness gym in a simple yet meaningful ceremony on Wednesday, October 30, at the UV-Main Campus along Colon Street in Cebu City.

Presided over by Fr. Russel Rupecio, the blessing and inauguration rites of the strength and conditioning facility was graced by the school s top executives headed by UV President Dr. Conrado I igo, Jr. and UV Executive Board Treasurer Dr. Leopold Lucero.

Our new fitness gym is part of our commitment for the continuous improvement of our facilities which can provide our students with an atmosphere conducive to academic performance and mental health,   said I igo. For our employees, this translates into greater efficiency and better performance in the workplace.

Others present during the special occasion were UV Vice President for Finance and Quality Management System (QMS) Dr. Rosemarie Cruz-Espa ol, Vice President for Administration Elmer Ocaba, and UV Green Lancers team manager Eduardo Digul Gullas III among others.

Loaded with essential equipment, UV Athletic and Cultural Director Dr. Chris Mejarito said the gym is intended for the strength and conditioning training of their student-athletes as well as for the fitness and wellness of the school employees.

This is in line with UV s best practices aimed at creating positive changes that are vital in building a much stronger Visayanian community, said Mejarito.
