CEBU, Philippines — Over 3,000 aspiring athletes are expected to take part in this year’s Summer Grassroots Sports Training Program spearheaded by Cebu City Sports Commission which will begin today at selected public school gyms.
Compared to last year, CCSC chairman Edward Hayco said the number of participants has been doubled this time mainly because of their extensive grassroots development program.
The multi-event undertaking offers basketball, archery, air rifle, arnis, badminton, beach volleyball, boxing, chess, muay thai, dancesports, futsal, karatedo, lawn tennis, pencak silat, scrabble, sepak takraw, softball/baseball, table tennis, taekwondo, touch rugby, track and field, volleyball, weightlifting, wushu, and gymnastics.
