CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Jose-Recoletos Baby Jaguars massacred the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildkittens, 100-50, to get back on the winning track in style in the 16th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. men's basketball tournament last night at the Cebu Coliseum.

Smarting from a 68-59 loss to the Cebu Eastern College Dragons, the Mighty Sports-backed Baby Jaguars bounced back with finesse to dominate the Wildkittens from the get go and eventually notch their second win in four starts.

Kirk Gonzada and Van Tindoy each scored 13, while Theo Ranara and Dave Ando connived for 23 points for the Baby Jaguars, who were never threatened after easing through a 16-point edge at halftime, 44-28.

Keeping their offensive fire burning behind the hot hands of Kirk Gonzaga, the Baby Jaguars went on to establish a commanding 73-41 lead on a  28-13 burst with under a minute left in the third quarter.

Though ahead by a mile, the Baby Jaguars still fought with a high level of intensity to come up with a 50-point blowout in what is by far the most lopsided triumph in the juniors division this season.

Ivan Ares and Riley Hapin finished with 17 and 15 points, respectively, but went home on a pensive mood as the listless Wildlkittens further languished at the cellar with a woeful 0-4 record. (FREEMAN)
