UV, USC leads the way in Alaska Hoops

CEBU, Philippines – The University of the Visayas (UV) and University of San Carlos (USC) led the way of winners at the Alaska Basketball D-League 2014 (ABDL) over the weekend at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Mango Avenue Gym. UV stunned USC North, 50-34, in an Under 17 Division 1 game to go 3-0.

USC, however, bounced back with wins in the Under 10 and 12 divisions. USC North stopped USJR, 60-18, in and Under 10 game to record its third straight win, while USC’s Under 12 side cruised past Thumbs Up, 42-18, in an Under 12 Division 1 game for a 4-0 record.

The Alaska D-League 2014 is a project of the Cebu Youth League, featuring a total of 76 teams in four age groups: Under 10, 12, 15 and 17. A Girls Under 17 division will also kick off its games in October.
