Accenture grabs solo lead in Division 1 of CSCC E-League

CEBU, Philippines – The Accenture Sharks offsetted an ice-cold start with an extra hot offensive in the windup to turn back the Lexmark Stallions, 59-51, in the 10th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Accenture trailed by 11 points at halftime, 35-24, but dropped a 15-0 bomb starting late in the third period, then outscored Lexmark in the final quarter, 22-6, to complete the big turnaround.

Ildefonso Bulangis Jr. scattered 22 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals while Archie Brian Vincent Batua added 15 points, five rebounds and two blocks as Accenture grabbed the solo lead in Division 1 with an 8-1 win-loss record.

Jan Oneil Sahilan was the lone double-digit scorer with 10 points for Lexmark, which suffered its third loss in eight starts.

In the other games, Eugenio Paming had 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals as the Teleperformance Lions pulled off a 57-56 squeaker over the Convergys 1 Wolves while Jan Isiah Gabest sparkled with a 13 points, nine rebounds, two assists and as many steals to power the 1&1 Marauders to a 59-45 triumph over the Calltek Trojans.

Nicholai James Vendiola added 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists for Teleperformance, which bettled its win-loss record to 4-5 while dropping  Convergys 1 to 6-3. Admir Batiancila paced Convergys 1 with 14 points, four rebounds,a nd two steals.

Raymaond Basañez contributed 11 points for 1&1, which evened its record to 4-4. Calltek slipped to its seventh loss against only two wins. —/EBV) (FREEMAN)
