CEBU, Philippines - The first SRP Midnight Marathon that was supposed to take place this Sunday has been moved to March 2 at the South Road Properties (SRP) grounds.
Race organizer Jeson Guardo of G-Concept said that they are moving the date of the event due to public clamor and also because of the recent calamity that affected parts of Central and Eastern Visayas.
The landmark event in Cebu road running circuit was supposed to coincide with the formal launching of the annual ‘Kasadya sa SRP.’
The organizers pledged to have the event as a major fundraising event for the victims of super typhoon ‘Yolanda.’
Aside from the premiere 42-kilometer open division, the race also features the 5K and 21K categories.
Early plans have it that P200,000 cash is at stake for the top performers in each category.
Registration fee is pegged at P350 for the 5K, P700 for the 21K, and P1,200 for the 42K inclusive of snacks, race bib and singlet.
