Rojo tops 6th leg of Kartzone series

CEBU, Philippines - Joseph Rojo bolstered his bid for the coveted 'Karter of the Year' honors after topping the sixth leg of the  2013 Kartzone Superkart Series over the weekend at Kartzone Racing Circuit in Brgy. Kasambagan, this city.

Rojo, who dominated the KT expert division, got a total of 52 points to pace the exciting KOY race followed by Jette Calderon and Sean Velasco with 45 and 29 points, respectively.

In the run for the fourth to ninth place were Vince Rojo (26), JT Gullas (18), Panpan Reroma (16), Justin Go (16), Rei Aleman (14) and Earl Taborada (8).

During the sixth leg, Reroma and Aleman emerged as the top two performers in the KT masters, while Harold Go bagged the top spot in KT novice followed by Vince Rojo and Taborada.

Frederick Cortes edged out Lord Seno to rule the Honda expert battle, while Kim Limgenco stole part of the limelight after dominating the Honda novice category over Manu Miranda. Seno and Limgenco handle the Motoring Section of The Freeman.

In the Mini ROK class, Jarond Messina came out as the best driver, while Liam Sacal and Rap-Rap Gutierrez took the second and third place honors. Gutierrez still went home with a champion's trophy through the SQ cadet category after he bested Seven Aleman. (FREEMAN)
