CEBU, Philippines - Dilaab Movement convenor Fr. Carmelo Diola is inviting the Cebuanos to take part in a fun run with a touch of religiosity billed as "Takbo Kuyog ni San Pedro" tomorrow starting at Plaza Independencia and ending at San Pedro's templete in South Road Properties where the 'National Thanksgiving' for the newest Filipino saint will be held on November 30.
Kick off time for the one-of-a-kind fitness activity is set at 5:30 am.
In a text message, Diola said the event is one way for the Cebuanos to show their devotion to San Pedro Calungsod.
"Let us connect fitness and prayer as our way of emulating the virtues of this youthful saint. San Pedro Calungsod, pray for us!" said Diola.
Students as well as members of the police and military force among other groups are expected to join the run for a worthy cause.
Pedro Calungsod is the second Filipino to be declared a saint by the Roman Catholic church after San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila. (FREEMAN)
