CEBU, Philippines — Barangay Apas Captain, Virgil Cabigon, who has been found guilty of simple misconduct, refused to receive his suspension papers, after noticing something was amiss in the document.
He questioned the authenticity of the alleged signature of Mayor Michael Rama.
Cabigon, along with Sangguniang Barangay members Allan Ybanez, Elizabeth Mana and Rebecca Flordeliz, were suspended for two months by the City Council after they allegedly specified a truck brand in the bidding document.
In an interview with The FREEMAN yesterday, Cabigon said he is not afraid of being suspended, as his conscience is clear, and that he has not done anything wrong.
He refused to acknowledge and sign the document served to him last August 16, as the first order sent to them was an unsigned one, but only had a counter-sign below Mayor Rama’s name.
