Three men arrested for burglarizing store

CEBU, Philippines — Three men, two of them minors, were arrested after allegedly breaking into and robbing a store in Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City, Tuesday night.

July Siaboc, 18, was allegedly accompanied by two 15-year-olds when they broke into the store owned by Daniel Miasco around 10 p.m. last Tuesday, as seen in Closed Circuit TV footage.

“Niagi ni sila sa kisame sa tindahan unya sa CR, mao nato nakasulod na sila sa tindahan. Didto na sila nangawat sa tindahan,” said Senior Police Officer 1 Maricano Suarez Jr. of the Toledo City Police Office.

The areas where the suspects passed to enter the establishment, including the roof, were damaged as a result of the crime.

Two cellphones, a Samsung tablet, two rings, and two necklaces were stolen from the store.

The store caretaker noticed that the items were already missing the following morning and reported it to the authorities at around 8 a.m.

“Bungkag naman tanan pag buntag. Nangawagtang nasad ang uban namo na mga tinda,” Suarez quoted store manager Maria Jergem as saying.

Siaboc and the two minors were arrested yesterday morning by the authorities.

Jergem went to the prosecutor’s office to file a case against the three suspects. Siaboc is now under the custody of Toledo City Police Station while the two minors are with the Department of Social Welfare and Development. — Hanna D. Tejada, USC intern BRP (FREEMAN)
