CEBU, Philippines- A 16-year-old boy died while four others were injured in a road accident in Barangay Banhigan, Badian, Cebu Sunday afternoon.
Cesar Yong, 16, of Barangay Guadalupe, Alegria, Cebu died after he reportedly lost control of his driven motorcycle while overtaking the vehicle ahead of him.
He reportedly fell off from his vehicle and landed on the opposite lane where an approaching motorcycle hit him.
Juvely Oril, 15, Yong’s companion, suffered minor injuries.
Charles Incipido, 22, the driver of the motorcycle that hit Yong also suffered injuries, as well as his brothers Mark Janivy, 17, and James Jerivy, 15.
Initial investigation revealed that Yong and Oril were on their way to Alegria.
Yong tried to overtake the vehicle travelling ahead of him but lost control of his motorcycle and fell on the ground.
Due to the impact, Yong was thrown to the opposite lane where he was hit by the motorcycle driven by Charles.
Charles and his brother slammed into the asphalted highway and suffered minor injuries.
The victims were brought to Badian District Hospital but Yong was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. (FREEMAN)
