CEBU, Philippines – Transport leaders have welcomed the new leadership at the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-7.
Reynaldo Elnar, the LTFRB-7 assistant director, is now the new LTFRB regional director, replacing Ahmed Cuizon who assumed as the new assistant manager of Mactan Cebu International Airport starting yesterday.
“I will just continue the reforms initiated by Cuizon. We will still be open for communication with the transport sector and other transport stakeholders,” said Elnar.
Elnar has been with the LTFRB for the past 25 years.
“Okey ra namo kung siya ang gipuli ni director Cuizon. We have no problems in dealing with him,” said Julieto Flores, spokesperson of the Cebu Provincial Bus Operators Association and president of the Cebu South Mini-Bus Operators Association.
“He is okay with us. No problem,” said Ryan Benjamin Yu, general manager and president of the Cebu Integrated Transport Cooperative, one of the biggest transport cooperative in Central Visayas.
Greg Perez, president of the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide, said that they also have no problem with the new LTFRB leadership.
“Wala man mi problema kung kinsa maglingkod diha sa LTFRB. Kay natural man gud na nga puli-puli ang molingkod sa position. Ang amo lang nga mo trabaho ang mo puli sa maong ahensiya sa gobyerno,” said Perez, whose group staged a transport protest the other day. – /LPM (FREEMAN)
