CEBU, Philippines - Two men died and one was injured in separate shooting incidents in Cebu City and in Badian town.
Charlie Cañeban was sitting outside his house past 7 p.m. on Thursday along Belgium Street in Barangay Suba when Harris Echevare alias Daloydoy and Jethro Echevare allegedly shot him without any apparent reason.
Both the suspects immediately fled before personnel of San Nicholas Police Station arrived at the crime scene.
Cañeban was declared dead by the attending physicians of the Cebu City Medical Center.
Investigators recovered one empty shell and a deformed slug of caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.
Based on police investigation, the victim is allegedly a noted thief in the area.
Meanwhile, Angelito Lascuña Seguismar, 44, of Barangay Tay-Tay, Badian was also declared dead on arrival at the hospital after he was gunned down yesterday by an unknown man.
Police Officer 3 Niño Serolino of the Badian Police Station said they are still searching for Seguismar’s shooter, who was described with dark complexion and around 5’ 4†in height.
According to the initial investigation, Seguismar stopped in front of the basketball court of Barangay Bugas to let a passenger disembark from his motorcyle.
He was then approached by an unknown man who shot him on his left armpit with an unknown caliber of firearm.
The suspect immediately fled the scene on board a tricycle.
