Edna Lhuillier, wife of Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Spain, Philippe Lhuillier, opted to have her birthday lunch at their palatial home atop a hill in Maria Luisa Estate Park commanding a panoramic view of Cebu City, Mandaue City, Mactan Island and beyond.
In an all-ladies lunch, home entertaining has become just that, much more special, since the host could entertain without ever turning their hand… now with the superb caterers and other services.
About 40 well-dressed, beautiful ladies of Cebu City converged at the elegant living room of the Lhuillier home. As we entered the first living room, what met our eyes were the rare and luxurious collections of antiques, busts of Roman emperors and Greek philosophers, and the very expensive crystal chandeliers hanging suspended at the high ceiling living room. Albeit its rare and extraordinary property, the Lhuillier home has retained its warm and comfortable ambiance. (By the way, Janice S. couldn’t contain herself and requested us to take a photo posing before a marvelous antique dresser set with carved edges decorated with varied hues of gemstones).
Smart in a brownish-gold outfit, Edna, the hostess with the mostest, warmly welcomed all her lady-guests to her beautiful home. Mariquita Yeung, a dear friend of Edna, helped her entertain the ladies. Veritably seen were Rep. Gwen Garcia, Rosebud Sala, Teresin Mendezona, Carmen Campbell, Tamsin Booth, Nena Montenegro, Susan Sala, Amparito Lhuillier and a host of other beautiful people in Cebu.
A sumptuous lunch was enjoyed by all the ladies. Immediately after lunch, everyone was invited by Edna to see their one-of-a-kind museum.
