CEBU, Philippines - A free production design workshop entitled "The Mystery and Design of the Art Department" is scheduled tomorrow, February 28, at the International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) Cebu campus at Mactan. It is open to all.
The workshop will focus on dissecting the inner workings of a feature film art department and de-mystifying the names and positions on the credit list. It will cover sub-departments, work flow and how it all comes together.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will have a much better grasp of how art direction and design play into visual arts, commercial and entertainment media.
IAFT mentor Michael David Crenshaw is the one conducting the workshop. He is an Emmy award winning production designer, fabricator and artist who has been pursuing his love of creative storytelling for over 20 years.
His film credits include Peter Jackson's "The Lovely Bones," "Bad Summer" with Adam Pally and Sarah Burns, "McCanick" starring David Morris, and both in front of and behind the camera of Yash Raj Film's "New York." In 2010, he won Relativity Media's Big Break film contest for his designs in Sean Kirkpatrick's "Cost of a Soul." Crenshaw teaches film producing, career development, film production management, art department integration and production design at IAFT.
Workshop runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Interested parties may contact yehlen@iaft.net or call at phones +63.32.495.2111 / +63.917.702.0705. IAFT Cebu's social media accounts are: facebook.com/iaftcebu and twitter.com/iaftcebu. The IAFT website is at: iaft.ph. (FREEMAN)
