Did you win?

I won’t have to work! Norbert rejoiced after convincing Teo and Nora to be his teammates for the Art contest on “Filipino games.” They were to do the three artworks. In their class, Teo was the best artist and Nora was the most hardworking.

“I’ll do luksong tinik…” said Nora.

“Trumpo for me,” added Teo.

“Great!” Norbert exclaimed, too lazy to think.

“And you, Norbert?” Teo and Nora asked.

“Ah… later…” Norbert muttered.

“Let’s work on Saturday at Teo’s house,” Nora suggested.

Saturday came – and only Nora and Teo worked on their project. Norbert had phoned Teo, “You have to do my artwork; I can’t draw!”

“You can cut pictures from magazines,” Teo urged.

“Can’t… my thumb’s sore…” Norbert lied and hung up.

A week later, at the awards ceremony, the winners were announced. “First prize: the team of Norbert, Nora and Teo!”

Norbert’s parents asked, “Which is your artwork?”

“Er… n-none,” Norbert admitted.

“Norbert!” exclaimed his mom. “Your teammates did all three artworks?!”

“Y-yes…” Norbert replied.

“Norbert, apologize to them!” his dad added.

“Y-yes po,” Norbert said, walking over to Nora and Teo.
