CEBU, Philippines - Cebu’s top dance crews ripped the stage of SM Consolacion Cebu last Aug. 23 in hopes of being declared grand champions of Dance Fest 2013’s Cebu leg.
Dance Fest 2013 is the biggest street and hip-hop dance competition in the Visayas region.
Declared champion in the school category was the BC Dance Troupe, with UC Dcypher Cru and Synergy Juniors, placing 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up, respectively.
Winners in the open category were: Type One, champion; Kingz Gambitt, 1st runner-up; and New Friends, 2nd runner-up.
Prizes for the open category were SM gift certificates amounting to P15,000 and P15,000 cash for the champion; P5,000 worth of SM GC’s and P5,000 cash for the 1st runner-up; and P2,500 worth of SM GC’s and P2,500 cash for the 2nd runner-up.
School category winners, meanwhile, received SM gift certificates worth P10,000 and P10,000 cash for the champion; P5,000 worth of SM GC’s and P5,000 cash for the 1st runner-up; and P2,500 worth of SM GC’s and P2,500 cash for the 2nd runner-up.
Cebu was the final stop of this year’s Dance Fest brought by GMA Network in partnership with SM Supermalls. The first two legs were earlier staged in Iloilo and Bacolod. (FREEMAN)
