CEBU, Philippines — A new global hotel brand is coming to Cebu, the latest from Thai hospitality group Dusit International.
Local developer Grand Land Inc., has secured the deal to bring Dusit’s newly launched “Asai” brand, which targets the millennial-minded travelers.
This was disclosed by GLI vice president for marketing Khristina Pestaño in a recent interview at the turnover of the company’s Amani Grand Resort Residences’ Tower 1 in Lapu-Lapu City.
Pestaño announced three Asai branded hotels will rise in Cebu particularly on Mactan Island, Cebu City and in the municipality of Oslob
These three hotels, she said, will add around 700 rooms to Cebu’s hospitality sector.
The Mactan hotel, targeted to have around 200 rooms, will rise at its 2.3-hectare Amani Grand complex in Matumbao Road, Lapu-Lapu City.
Meanwhile, the hotel in Cebu City will be built along Salinas Drive in Lahug and will have around 300 rooms. The Asai hotel in Oslob will also have close to 200 rooms.
She said this new brand might be launched within this year or next. In a previous statement, Dusit said the three Asai hotels in Cebu are already confirmed in the pipeline.
The company’s other hotel brands, which cover luxury and mid-market segments, include Dusit Thani, Dusit Devarana, Dusit Princess, and dusitD2.
The Gaisano-led developer is also bringing the Dusit Princess and dusitD2 brands in its ongoing developments in Cebu, the Grand Tower Cebu and Grand Residences, respectively.
Dusit said Asai is a distinctive new brand designed to link curious, millennial-minded travellers with authentic local experiences in vibrant cities and resort destinations worldwide.
The brand embraces a sustainable, community-focused concept, with each property designed to reflect the culture and heritage of its location through collaborations with local artisans.
