[Title] => Making a difference (Even if youre not Warren Buffet)
[Summary] =>
Good intentions are like cold dough on a table, waiting for something to enable it to rise and amount to something be it a mouthwatering ensaymada or a basic pan de sal. Most of us have dough somewhere in the kitchens of our soul. Like a baker with brioche in her mind, we have a picture of what we want our good intentions to amount to a safer community, help for streetkids, a cleaner environment, a better world. But often, it just sits there, a good intention waiting to rise to its full potential.

[Title] => When it is dark
[Summary] => There was something about her letter and I do not even know her. I read her letter in the CENTEX (Center for Excellence) website, saying she put aside part of her stipend from Philippine Science High School to give to her "little brothers and sisters at Centex Manila." She is Pristine Joy Polido and she graduated valedictorian from the CENTEX elementary school in Tondo in April 2005. I wanted to write to her but it would have been not only a very tardy congratulatory note but also terribly odd since she did not know me. But I know of her.

[Title] => The Pathways to Higher Education
[Summary] => I believe that education is not just a need but a right of every young citizen. My late Tatay always talked about education as "the only wealth he could leave us with." "No one can steal it away from you:" he would philosophize.
These days, however with the poverty line just a breath away from its worst level millions of students who cant continue their education end up unskilled workers, sidewalk vendors, mendicants, drug dependents and worse criminals.
