Chief Inspector Dante Novicio, municipal police chief, said Carlito Isip, 38, chairman of Barangay San Diego, was hit in the right shoulder. He was declared out of danger.

He quoted Isip as saying that he has no known enemies.

Novicio ordered 24-hour security for Isip in the hospital.

Police found one empty shell and a slug from a caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.
