Majestic is the only word I can use to describe Coron island. I was in awe the moment we caught sight of the magnificent limestone rocks and cliffs, interspersed with trees indigenous to this island, detached from the mountains and hills of Busuanga. You have to look at a map to understand why there is a Coron town, a Coron island and a Busuanga airport. And this is home to an indigenous tribe called Tagbanua.

"It is difficult to grow flowers in this free-range island habitat," said Froilan Sariego, resident project manager of the Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary. "Exotic animals from Africa and important Philippine wildlife eat the flowers for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Often, we have to get the animals’ food supply from the nearby islands."
