[Summary] =>
October is known as Breast Cancer Awareness month throughout the world. In the Philippines, ICanServe Foundation is committed to its advocacy of awareness and early detection of breast cancer.
This time of year is always a sentimental one for those of us who graduated in 1986, or almost didn’t. It’s been 25 years since my generation plunged into a sea of humanity that took its destiny into its own hands for four days in February.
It has been said that pearls are the symbol of a woman’s emotions. A pearl symbolizes a woman’s fragility, vulnerability and poetic sadness. The pearl itself is delicate and easily wont to dullness without proper care. The smooth and eternal luster of a pearl can be representative of the tears a woman sheds in times of joy and sorrow. It reveals many layers of her personality and sentiments, like the pearl itself which is made slowly through layers and layers of nacre produced specifically to protect the oyster that houses the pearl. Even in its creation, there is a symbolic story behind the pearl.

[Title] => God let the dogs out (woof, woof)
[Summary] => I was down with an affliction over the weekend. What kind, I am not too sure. Must have been the "Milenyo" fever. Because, believe me, the sick feeling took me by storm. So, for the first time in four years I did not make it to any of the pet blessings held aro-und Metro Manila last Sunday.
It was a sad day for Gorby and Tasha, my little Poodles, who were so looking forward to going to the blessings and meeting other pets, too.

[Title] => Chiz quiz
[Summary] => On my show, Private Conversations (Thursdays, 6 p.m., ANC News Channel), I do Fast Talk (Proutian). I ask my guests a series of slum-book type of questions and I ask them to tell me the first things that come to mind. Initially, I had my Fast Talk questions in a cardboard box painted by artist Philp Badon. Then, I had it changed to a "baul" style box made of pandan leaves. It looked pretty on screen.

[Title] => Philippine South Sea pearl: A glowing tribute
[Summary] => There is a story that lies behind the beauty of the Philippine South Sea pearl, a tale that enriches its luster and gives more value to the "orient" or its inner glow, which is the unique characteristic of this mysterious gem. It is a story that heralds mans dedication to the preservation of nature, a story steeped in the interaction of man and his environment.

Mark Jay Bacojo and Cherry Ann Mejia claimed berths to the national team after conquering the Philippine Sports Commission-National Chess Federation of the Philippines selection tournament grand finals
I write this after the University of the Philippines’ Fighting Maroons clinched the UAAP men’s basketball championship, and after a UP Law graduate (Kyle Christian Tutor) topped the Bar exams.
It’s the happiest time of the year and Christmas is upon us. This season is about loving, sharing, giving, forgiving, thanksgiving and celebrating the birth of our Lord. In the Yuletide spirit, we’re excited to launch our annual Christmas Contest, presented by the Philippine Sports Commission, today.
The Palawan Group of Companies hosted a Champions’ Thanksgiving Dinner last December 18 at UP Diliman to honor the UP Fighting Maroons' victory in the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball tournament.
