Top prospect Solomon shows up at PVL Draft Combine despite uncertainty

MANILA, Philippines — The Galeries Tower Highrisers are keeping their fingers crossed that the player they would exercise their No. 1 pick on in the PVL Rookie Draft — Alyssa Solomon — will not back out.
“It’s not yet a firm decision, we’ll see. But I’m thankful I’m here,” said Solomon after attending yesterday’s PVL Draft Combine at Gameville in Mandaluyong where she shared the court with 41 other aspirants.
The Alas Pilipinas star and Japanese veteran is expected to make the decision before the Monday deadline for applicants to withdraw.
Solomon, however, vows to give it her all if she decides to go through the process.
“I would just enjoy the ride,” said the former National U standout being tipped as the consensus top pick in the rites set June 3 at the Novotel.
“Wherever team I go, I will give it my best in training and practice and bring the things I learned in Japan,” she added.
The Highrisers drew the first pick, Capita1 the second, and Choco Mucho and ZUS Coffee and the third and fourth picks, respectively, in the recent Draft Lottery at Cignals office in Reliance, Mandaluyong.
