MANILA, Philippines -- The Gilas Pilipinas women suffered a 21-13 beating at the hands of China Saturday evening to end their group phase of the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series' Wuhan leg.

Ji Yuan Wan led China with 13 points and four rebounds.

It was a wire-to-wire victory for the home team, as they just had answer after answer for the Philippines.

After Lili Wang pushed China’s lead to six, 11-5, Gilas tried to slowly inch closer, cutting the lead to three, 12-9 after a 3-pointer by Sam Harada.

Wan and Kaye Pingol traded baskets, 13-10, before the Chinese unleashed four straight points to keep the Filipinos at bay, 17-10.

Harada and Angel Surada tried to tow Gilas back, but China was just too much.

Wang followed Wan with five points.

Harada led the charge for Gilas with six markers, while Pingol chipped in four.

The quarterfinals of the tourney will tip off on Sunday afternoon.
